Displaying engine speed, function - GF54.30-P-3021PP
MODEL 203.0 /2 /7 up to 23.4.04
Networking:
- The engine speed is sensed by the camshaft Hall sensor (B6/1).
- The signals of the camshaft Hall sensor (B6/1) are read in by the motor electronics control unit (N3/10) or the CDI control unit (N3/9) and passed on the class C (engine compartment) controller area network bus (CAN-C).
- The instrument cluster (A1) receives this message and controls the stepper motor of the tachometer (A1p5) according to the rotational speed.
Adjustment for the number of cylinders
It is not necessary to adapt the tachometer (A1p5) to the number of cylinders in the engine.
If implausible values are received from the class C (engine compartment) controller area network bus (CAN-C) the needle of the tachometer (A1p5) is moved to the left side of the scale. An error message is also stored in the fault memory.
