Function requirements

Function sequence

The following function sequence is initiated by means of the roof system switch (N70s1)  or the transmitter key (A8/1)  :

  1. Panoramic sliding roof raised to tilt position.
  2. Panoramic sliding roof raised beyond tilt position with simultaneous lifting of the Wind deflector lamella.
  3. Wind deflector raised to final position while panoramic sliding roof slides over stationary glass panel.

The "closing" sequence for the panoramic sliding roof is analogous to the "opening" sequence.

The panoramic sliding roof is driven by the roof system motor (M12m1).

The motor's direction of rotation for the "opening/closing" function of the panoramic sliding roof is determined by the polarity of the actuating voltage from the overhead control panel control module (N70).  The polarity of the actuating voltage is set by means of a two-coil relay (center-zero relay with neutral position).

Position measurement is performed by the overhead control panel control module (N70)  using pulses supplied by Hall sensor 1 (M12b1) and Hall sensor 2 (M12b2).
