TURN SIGNAL LAMP MALFUNCTION

82 104 74 Contact problems between turn signal lamp socket and headlamp housing. NOTES Replacement of the complete headlamp assembly will not be recognized for warranty or goodwill!  
  IMPORTANT Contact between turn signal lamp socket and headlamp overheated and burned due to low contact pressure and high transition resistance. IMPORTANT Install turn signal lamp socket including wiring harness only in the case of complaint Perform repair only on the affected vehicle side  
   

    1 Remove turn signal lamp socket (E1e2, E2e2) from headlamp housing.

    2 Check outer contacts of lamp socket for damage (contact burn).

    IMPORTANT In the event of visible damage proceed with step 3.

    3 Disconnect electrical connector from headlamp housing.  
    4 Unpin actuation line (1) for turn signal lamp from connector (2).
NOTES Open lock (3) to prevent contacts from being destroyed.
Left turn signal lamp: pin 1 (black/white-sw/ws)
Right turn signal lamp: Pin 1 (black/green-sw/gn)
 
    ↓  
    5 Remove contacts from sensor's laminated contact connector. AR00.19-P-0120-02B
    6 Plug empty chamber with blind plug.  
    7 Insert actuation line (1) for turn signal lamp in connector housing (4) (pin 1) of repair set.
IMPORTANT Before installing single-conductor seal check for damage.
 
    8 Connect plug housing (4) with connector (5) of repair wiring harness.
IMPORTANT Housing should catch audibly.
 
    9 Screw terminal (6) of repair wiring harness to ground (ground output - component compartment - right) (W16/4) or ground (ground output - component compartment - left) (W16/3).  
    10 Install turn signal lamp socket (E1e2, E2e2) in headlamp housing.  
    11 Connect electrical connector (2) to headlamp housing.  
    12 Fasten repair wiring harness with two tie straps along original wiring harness.
IMPORTANT Select mount so that noise is prevented.
 
    IMPORTANT Parts will be available in the middle of 05/2002. in GLC Germersheim
