Instrument Panels - SLK230: Description

WARNING: Deactivate air bag system before performing any service operation. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS - C, CLK & SLK article. DO NOT apply electrical power to any component on steering column without first deactivating air bag system. Air bag may deploy.

Instrument cluster uses analog type gauges which include: speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, and coolant temperature gauge. Instrument cluster LCD displays include outside temperature gauge, main odometer, trip odometer and clock. Instrument cluster indicator lamps include: high beam, Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) malfunction, brake fluid low/parking brake applied, Brake Assist System/Acceleration Slip Regulation (BAS/ASR) malfunction, ASR warning, fasten seat belt reminder, low windshield/headlight washer fluid level, low coolant level, low engine oil level, worn brake pads, charge indicator, exterior light failure, telescopic steering column not locked, Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) malfunction, CHECK ENGINE, Flexible Service System (FSS) indicator and low fuel/fuel cap placement warning indicator. FSS indicator appears as a wrench symbol in main odometer display field prior to next suggested service. See Fig 1 .
