Fault Memory

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 24 other vehicles, including the 1994 Mercedes-Benz SL600, 1994 Mercedes-Benz SL500, 1994 Mercedes-Benz SL320, 1994 Mercedes-Benz E500, and 1994 Mercedes-Benz E420. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: If during the fault retrieval, No. 1, no fault is output, the electrical system of the PML is in order. The hydraulics then have to be tested.

The control unit is provided with a fault memory and is thus capable of diagnosis. Faults occurring remain stored even when the ignition is switched OFF and the battery is disconnected. The fault memory can be read out using HHT via a test coupling (140 589 14 63 00), see SPECIAL TOOLS  under TROUBLE SHOOTING, in the module box. The fault path under investigation is displayed with the fault readout.
