Activated Charcoal Canister Shutoff Valve (Y58/4)

NOTE: Activated charcoal canister shutoff valve (Y58/4) is located behind storage area located behind driver seat. For ME-SFI control module location and identification, see ME-SFI CONTROL MODULE CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  .

Current Consumption -  Connect ammeter between right cylinder bank ME-SFI control module connector 1 terminals No. 38 and 34 (socket box terminals No. 38 and 34). Turn ignition on. Ammeter should indicate 0.5-0.9 amps. If amperage is within specification, test is complete. If amperage is not within specification, possible causes are fuse failure, wiring harness failure or activated charcoal canister shutoff valve (Y58/4) defective. Repair as necessary.
