Removal and installation of ABS control unit - RA42001240708X(42-0708)

1. Model 124 (except 124.034), 129.060/061/066, 201, 202

   Ignition	OFF  .
   Clip (22)	unsnap and extract plug from ABS control unit. When reinserting the plug in the ABS control unit (N30), ensure that it snaps into place audibly.
   Model 202  Bolts	remove, install.
   ABS control unit (N30)	remove from bracket, reinstall. remove from bracket, reinstall.
   Model 124, 129, 201  Test program	perform ( 42-0720/Chassis Diagnosis Manual, Volume 2).
   Model 202  Fault memory	read out, then erase (Chassis Diagnosis Manual, Volume 2).

   NOTE: Phased in as of 04/86 the ABS control units are enclosed in a plastic housing instead of an aluminum housing. The control units are interchangeable.

   On vehicles with ABS, which are also fitted with the ASD, ASR or 4MATIC systems, the system related control unit is valid in each case.

   Ignition	OFF  .
   Module box cover (F23)	detach, refit.
   Control unit (N30)	extract/press on with special tool 140 589 01 33 00.
   Fault memory	read out, then erase (Chassis Diagnosis Manual, Volume 2).
