  1. Attach number punch guide to cross member below right rear seat.

    NOTES The number punch guide should be aligned far enough toward the outside of the vehicle so that the vehicle identification number and the possible substitute number can punched next to one another.

    A  = Punching field

    B  = Spare field

  2. Press number punch guide all the way down and fasten with nuts (arrows).

    NOTES The anvil should make uniform contact at the rear with the sheet metal flange, remove any body sealant.

    IMPORTANT Install appropriate anvil plate for model 215! The cross member below the rear seat is fabricated of high-strength sheet steel. For this purpose use a correspondingly heavy hammer for punching the vehicle identification number. Punch in with short and powerful hammer blows.
