	Remove/Install
1	Remove front seat		AR91.10-P-1000MB
2	Open flap on stowage compartment (2)
3.1	Unclip stowage compartment (2)
3.2	Remove fire extinguisher	With fire extinguisher, code 682.
4	Unscrew screws (4, 2 pieces) on left side paneling (3)
5	Unscrew screw (see arrow) on the paneling (12) of the belt end fitting and remove
6	Unscrew screw (5) on side paneling (3) (see enlarged section)
7	Pull off left side paneling (3) in the direction of travel
8.1	Unclip lower side paneling (11) in the direction of arrow	With driver-seat multicontour backrest, code 404b and front passenger-seat multicontour backrest code 405b.
9.1	Remove multicontour backrest control module on front seat	With driver-seat multicontour backrest, code 404b and front passenger seat multicontour backrest, code 405b.	AR91.25-P-1750M
10	Tie back the pneumatic line (6) for the air cushion in the seat backrest from the seat frame to the seat backrest	On vehicles with a multicontour backrest the pneumatic line consists of a loom with 6 individual lines. Installation:  Pay attention to chafe-free routing. Fasten pneumatic line to the seat adjuster using tie strap (see arrow).
11	Unscrew screw (see arrow) and screw (8) on paneling of seat belt buckle (9)
12	Unclip retaining lug (see enlarged section) and remove paneling from seat belt buckle (9)
13	Expose electrical line (10) from the front seat backrest (1) to the front seat adjustment control module with memory left (N32/1), right (N32/2), and disconnect	Installation:  Pay attention to chafe-free routing.
14	Unscrew screw (14, 2 pieces) on the right and left side from the backrest fitting (13)	Screw at backrest fitting.	*BA91.10-P-1002-01H
15	Remove front seat backrest (1) from seat adjuster
16	Install in the reverse order
17	Carry out function test of seat backrest function
