Remove and install rear AC housing - AR83.50-P-9020M

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/Install     
DANGER Risk of explosion  from welding or soldering work on closed air conditioning system. Risk of poisoning  . Inhaling overheated refrigerant vapors may be toxic. Risk of injury  from skin and eye contact with liquid refrigerant. Do not carry out any welding work on the closed air conditioning system or in the surrounding area. No smoking or open flames.
Wear eye protection and protective gloves.
Work only in well ventilated areas. Carry out repair work on the air conditioning system circuit only after the system has been discharged.

IMPORTANT Notes on handling refrigerant R134a   AH83.30-N-0003-01A
1 Drain air conditioning (recycle), evacuate, charge, check for leakage IMPORTANT Resupply suctioned off quantity of compressor oil to refrigerant circuit when filling air conditioning system (new oil)  
DANGER Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage bottles.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye protection.

2 Reduce pressure in cooling system IMPORTANT To do this, turn radiator cap into position "1" and reseal  
3 Drain coolant, pour in   AR20.00-P-1142HA
4 Remove front seats IMPORTANT until 31.8.02 AR91.10-P-1000M
    IMPORTANT as of 1.9.02 AR91.10-P-1000MB
5 Remove rear AC control module (N22/4)   AR83.50-P-9070M 
6 Remove center console (1) IMPORTANT Except models 220.074/ 174. AR68.20-P-2000M
    IMPORTANT Only models 220.074/ 174. AR68.20-P-2000AM
7 Spit back left and right floor covering    
8 Unscrew bolt (2), close heat exchanger TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA83.50-P-1004-01A 
9 Unplug connector (3)    
10 Unscrew bolt (4), detach refrigerant lines (5) IMPORTANT Plug openings (parts kit)
IMPORTANTInstallation: 
Replace O-rings.
Moisten thread with compressor oil.
 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA83.50-P-1003-01A 
11 Unclip and detach air ducts (7)    
12 Unscrew 4 bolts (6)    
13 Remove rear air conditioning module (8).    
14 Replace receiver/drier   AR83.30-P-6520M 
15 Install in the reverse order IMPORTANT After completing the operations correct engine coolant level.
Perform leakage test.
