Electronic Stability Program (Esp) Warning Light

CAUTION: If vehicle is towed with front axle raised, ignition must be turned off or ESP will engage and apply rear brakes. It is necessary that all tires on vehicle be same size. Driving vehicle with different size tires may cause ESP to activate.

ESP enhances directional control and reduces driving wheel spin. ESP counteracts oversteer or understeer by applying brake to appropriate wheel to create counterpointing vehicle movement. When ESP is in operation, ESP warning light will flash. If ESP warning remains constantly illuminated with engine running, a malfunction has been detected in ESP system. Only partial engine output will be available. As a bulb check, indicator light comes on when ignition is turned on, and goes out when engine is started.

If power supply was interrupted, ESP warning light may be displayed with engine running. It will be necessary to reactivate steering angle sensor. See PROGRAMMING .
