Retrofitting CD changer wiring harness - AZ82.64-P-0001-01IC

IMPORTANT Equipment sequence before installation as follows:

IMPORTANT Equipment sequence following installation (must be maintained):

Supplementing D2B ring wiring harness: 

  1. Disconnect radio (A2) connector housing or COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3).
  2. Unlock connector housing and remove white insert (ws) from radio (A2) connector housing or COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3).
  3. Insert new M1 fiber optic cable module with white insert (ws) into radio (A2) connector housing or COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3) and lock housing.

    IMPORTANT Observe special routing guidelines for fiber optic cables.

  4. Insert red insert (rt) from new M1 fiber optic cable module into new CD changer (A2/6) connector housing. Insert white insert (ws) from new M2 fiber optic cable module into new CD changer (A2/6) connector housing and lock connector housing.

    Reconnect connector housing to CD changer (A2/6).

    IMPORTANT The D2B interface for permanently installed telephone (A59) (code 316) or the D2B interface for portable mobile telephone (A59/1) (code 317) or the TELE AID control module (A35/8) (code 347) may be the next piece of ring equipment and are designated as "next piece of ring equipment" below.

  5. Disconnect connector housing from next piece of ring equipment and unlock. Insert red insert (rt) from new M2 fiber optic cable module into old connector housing on next piece of ring equipment and lock connector housing. Reconnect connector housing to next piece of ring equipment.
  6. Route fiber optic cable along existing leads while observing special routing guidelines and fasten with adhesive felt.
  7. Route CD changer (1) wiring harnesses (power supply and fiber optic cable) from trunk to wire passage in rear wall along existing wiring harnesses and continue to left rear wiring duct. Connect brown lead (br) from power supply wiring harness to ground in trunk, left wheelhouse (W6).

  8. Route wiring harnesses (1) toward front in left wiring duct. Route fiber optic cable (1/1) wiring harness to selector lever in existing wiring duct. Route M1 fiber optic cable module from selector lever out to center console through existing wiring duct. Route M2 fiber optic cable module from selector lever to installation location for telephone through existing wiring ducts (below right rear seat). Insert power supply (1/2) wiring harness from inner rocker panel to driver's footwell in existing wiring duct.

  9. Solder blue/black lead (bl/sw) from wiring harness power supply (1/2) to blue/black lead (bl/sw) on end sleeve (Z35/10) for wakeup signal using solder connector.

    Solder red/yellow lead (rt/ge) from wiring harness power supply (1/2) to red/yellow lead (rt/ge) on end sleeve (Z4/3) of circuit 30 using solder connector.
