5	Check procedure	With the torque converter lockup clutch switched the friction value is calculated by means of rotational speed comparisons. A fault is recognized if this is often out of tolerance.
6		Faults are detected by the EGS control unit and sent via the CAN data bus to the ME control unit. Storage of faults and actuation of the CHECK ENGINE indicator lamp (MIL) are undertaken by the ME control unit. Also read out the EGS fault memory.
