| 7 | Checking runs independently of the leak test for purging. The fuel tank pressure sensor is checked for an electrical fault (discontinuity, short circuit to ground or positive). There is a fault if the sensor voltage exceeds or goes below the limits. Characteristic of the tank pressure sensor: - 50 mbar, about 0.5 volts; 0 mbar, about 3.0 volts; +30 mbar approx. 4.5 volts. The fuel tank pressure sensor may be so faulty that the signal is constant but still plausible (sensor sticking). The fault: purging system has a gross leak (P2013) will be recognized in such cases. |
