4	Checked signal or status	Knock sensor signal (comparison value calculated in the ME-SFI control unit)
5	Fault setting conditions	The signal from the knock sensor must lie between 0.10 volts and 4.98 volts (direct voltage share). The band width of the modulated noise signal must not be smaller than 0.05 volts (calculated in the ME control unit), otherwise no noises are recognized.
6	Check prerequisites	engine at operating temperature engine speed greater than 2000 rpm load higher than 40% knock control enabled engine not under full loading no fault in crankshaft position sensor and camshaft Hall sensor
7		There will be retarding of the ignition timing on all cylinders for safety reasons if a fault occurs.
