Upper limit value Requested idle speed not reach by a difference of more than 100 rpm
Lower limit value Approx. 30 seconds
Checking duration If actuation of the actuator motor in the ME control unit actuator is altered the new specified value must be reached muss within about 25 seconds.
6 Check prerequisites
  • engine temperature greater than 45°C
  • AC off
  • limp-home not active
  • no safety fuel switch-off
  • throttle valve not iced up.
7 IMPORTANT Engines 112, 113
  • If the engine control unit detects an undervoltage, the idle speed at the engaged drive position will be raised up to switching off of the ignition by approx. 100 rpm.
  • When the air conditioning unit is switched on and the external temperature exceeds 35°C the idling speed for the driving position selected is increased by about 100 rpm to 700 rpm when the switch-on threshold of about 900 rpm is exceeded. This increase is canceled again when the external temperature drops below 32°C.
  • Vehicles with SBC: If the SBC control unit reports an undervoltage to the engine control unit via the CAN, the idling speed for the driving position selected is increased to about 750 rpm.
