| 4 | Checked signal or status | The signal from the stop lamp switch is detected by the ESP control unit for the ME control unit and transmitted over the CAN. For vehicles without a stop lamp switch actuation of the brake pedal at the brake unit is recognized. The signal is checked for plausibility in the engine control unit and possible substitute values are created if there is a fault. CAN transmission errors are recognized by means of two different test procedures. |
