Open engine hood, move to upright position and close - AR88.40-P-1000GH

DANGER Hazard  from touching parts which conduct high voltages Do not touch parts carrying high voltages. Persons who wear electronic implants (e.g. heart pacemakers) must not carry out work on the ignition system. AS15.10-Z-0001-01A
DANGER Risk of injury  to fingers being jammed or squeezed  when removing and installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/tailgate or sliding roof. When moving components, ensure that no body parts or limbs are within the operating range of moving parts. AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
1 Pull lever (1) in left side of footwell to unlock the engine hood (2) IMPORTANT Engine hood jumps open; lift engine hood slightly if necessary.  
2 Pull handle (3) out of radiator grille as far as the stop and open engine hood IMPORTANT Do not lift with handle. The windshield wiper arms must not be folded forward.  
3 Move engine hood with support rod (4) to maintenance position (A).    
4 Position engine hood (2) vertically and position in vertical position (B) with support rod.    
5 Unhook support rod (4) from engine hood and install in mount at upper frame cross member. IMPORTANT Engine hood can fall down.  
6 Close engine hood (2) IMPORTANT Place your hands only on the front edges of the hood.  
7 Pull engine hood firmly upwards to check the latching function of the engine hood lock
