Parktronic actuates without obvious cause, although no obstacle is visible. |
Do not replace parts. |

There are various causes for the display of Parktronic, with or without warning tone:
- License plate bracket (advertising plate) installed on front bumper.
- License plate sticks out on side.
- Other attached parts on bumper which are in the detection range of the sensors.
- Vehicle level lowered in series production (floor echo).
- Snow and/or slush.
- Heavy rain.
- Gush of water running from engine hood over sensors when braking the vehicle.
- Sensors badly soiled.
- Ultrasonic waves, e.g. pneumatic brake, pneumatic hammer etc.
- Induction loops in floor at traffic lights or in underground car parks.
- Waste heat when engine is very hot building up in front of the vehicle when stopping.

The causes mentioned can lead to complaints and are a result of the design
Replacing the sensors or the control unit does not help.
Please inform the customer accordingly (see also notes in Owner's Manual).
Please also advise that sales and presentation personnel that it is not permissible to install any additional license plate holder on the front bumper on vehicles with Parktronic (code 220). |

New Parktronic sensors incorrectly painted when replaced.
Painting the entire front area of the sensor changes the frequency characteristics.
Such modified frequency characteristics lead to incorrect signals and actuation of the system without obvious cause. |
If this package is not available, mask the sensors accordingly. |
