Wiring harness overview

When routing, tie cables and wiring looms to existing cables and wiring looms. Avoid chafing points and attach chafe protection if necessary. Cut overlength cables or wiring looms to length or tie back.

1. Connect 12-pin coupling (9) and 28-pin coupling (8) to the control module.
2. Connect brown cable (5) to a ground support point in the area of the control module or taillamp.
3. Connect 6-pin coupling (7) to the display instrument connection cable.

   Extend display instrument connection cable with an extension cable if necessary.

4. Determine the reverse lamp connection cable in the taillamp wiring harness.
5. Cut through reverse lamp connection cable (11) and equip red cable (6) of the wiring harness with a crimped connector (12).
6. Insulate crimped connector and tie to the reverse lamp wiring harness.

7. Determine volume of warning sound:
   • Connecting flat contact (2.1) and flat contact housing (2.2)= low volume
   • Not connecting flat contact (2.1) and flat contact housing (2.2) = maximum volume
8. Insulate and tie back inoperative violet (4.1) and violet/white (4.2) cables.

1. 10 Insert coding plug (16) in coding housing (1)and secure with a cable strap (17).

   Observe coding plug identification. Only a coding plug with the resistance value applicable to the vehicle should be used. The coding plug must not be replaced by a fuse under any circumstances.
