Converting side paneling - AZ88.00-P-0001-04H
Model 210 up to 31.5.99
- Remove cover strip from front fender (A) and from rear wheelhouse (B).
- Loosen cover strip from mounting elements with installation wedge.
- Remove mounting grommets from front and rear fender.
- Remove cover strip (C) from longitudinal member.
- Loosen cover strip from mounting elements with installation wedge and remove mounting grommets from longitudinal member.
- Remove paneling from longitudinal member on bottom of vehicle.
- Remove the four inner expanding anchors for mounting the standard longitudinal member on both sides and install dummy plug.
- Remove covers for car jack mount.
- Remove cover strip and mounting grommets from bottom edge of door.
- Install AMG side paneling.
- Pull in catch strap for rocker panel cover.
- Degrease fender in areas (A) and (B) and glue on fuzzy straps.
- Press in AMG mounting snaps (C) in entry area.
- Remove backing from hook strip in rocker panel and ensure that all hooks are free.
- Hook side paneling onto front fender with mounting lug and firmly press hook strip into fuzzy strap starting at front.
- Fasten side paneling in entry area with Phillips screw (E) and in area of vehicle floor with screws.
It is necessary to install one spacer each between the body floor and the AMG side paneling in the area of the last screw.
- Clean gluing surface in entry area, pull backing foil off of self-adhesive cover foil and use to cover screws.
- Clip in AMG cover strips.
- Clean bottom edge of door.
- Carefully insert sealing strips with clips (A) into holes starting at hinge side, however, do not yet arrest. When clips are installed press in clips (A) starting on hinge side (do not hammer or beat), the pin (B) should not yet catch.
- When all clips (A) are caught, carefully catch pins (B) audibly in clips (A).
Preparation
Final assembly
