Converting front bumper - AZ88.00-P-0001-02G

Model 210 up to 31.5.99 

Preparation 

1. Remove standard front bumper.

   

   On vehicles with outside temperature sensor remove outside temperature sensor from bumper.

2. Open side flaps in underbody and remove fog lamps.
3. Loosen the two nuts below the radiator shroud and the screws on the side mount.
4. Remove nuts, screws and washers.
5. Pull off bumper toward front.

6. Disassemble bumper.
7. Remove outer molding:

   Pull off side mounting clips ad loosen retaining lugs in pairs with screwdriver. Remove molding.

8. Remove impact dampers.

9. Drill out rivets in mounts and remove mounts.
10. Remove chrome-plated trim panel on "Elegance" and "Avantgarde" equipment lines.

Assembly 

11. Install mount:

    Fasten front and side mounts with rivets included.

12. Install protective molding:

    Insert inner impact pads and clip in molding.

    Secure molding with clips.

13. Installing auxiliary fog lamp:

    Clip mount into bumper. Insert lamp into lamp shaft and align. Fasten auxiliary fog lamp to mount and bumper with screws and sheet metal nuts included.

14. Position chrome-plated trim panels and secure with clips.
15. Install impact dampers.

Final assembly 

16. Position bumper and screw on lightly.
17. Perform visual check, if applicable align bumper and tighten mounting nuts and mounting screws.
18. Connect lamps and adjust. Adjust lamps at rear with adjustment screw in same manner as standard fog lamps. Close flaps in underbody paneling.
19. Clip in assembly flaps.
20. Install AMG emblem on bumper. Heat up AMG emblem and gluing surface to approx. 40° (radiator, hot air gun). Then position AMG emblem as shown in drawing and press on.

On vehicles with stationary heater loosen impact damper at front, bend mount (A) for impact damper and install sheet metal panel (B) included between mount and impact damper using screws. The distance between the impact damper and headlamp should be min. 5 mm.
