Instrument Panels - CLK320, CLK430, E55, E320 & E430: Description
Instrument cluster uses analog type gauges which include: coolant temperature, fuel gauge, speedometer and tachometer. See Fig 1 . Indicator lights include: low fuel and fuel cap placement warning, turn signals, Electronic Stability Program (ESP) warning, Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) malfunction, BRAKE warning, CHECK ENGINE, Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) malfunction, high beam indicator, BAS/ESP malfunction, fasten seat belt reminder, and telescoping column not locked (if equipped). Single purpose LCDs include: outside temperature, gear range, and clock.
Multifunction display LCD located in speedometer normally displays main odometer and trip odometer. When in mode that displays main and trip odometers, pressing up or down arrow on multifunction steering wheel will cycle through main/trip odometer, Flexible Service System (FSS) indicator, and oil level indicator displays. Flexible System Service (FSS) indicator will display in multifunction display for about 10 seconds when ignition is turned to run position, or while driving when reaching service warning threshold. Other features such as audio controls, engine oil level indicator, trip computer, navigation system (if equipped), telephone (if equipped), and malfunction message memory can be displayed in multifunction display using buttons on multifunction steering wheel.
