REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of accident  caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury  caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the running engine Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.

DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off the lifting platform. Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates below the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

1 Raise vehicle.    
2 Detach lower engine compartment paneling Model 220 AR61.20-P-1105M
    Model 211 AR61.20-P-1105T
3 Drain and collect engine oil IMPORTANTInstallation:  Replace sealing ring of the oil drain screw.  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Oil drain plug to oil pan *BA01.45-P-1003-01B 
    FLUID SPECIFICATION *BF18.00-P-1001-01H 
4.1 Remove front axle gear Model 220. 083/084087/183184/187220 AR33.30-P-0525I
5 Remove oil pan bottom section (2)   AR01.45-P-7555IW 
6.1 Detach right oil line (3) of the automatic transmission from oil pan (1) Model 220  
7.1 Detach left oil line (7) of the automatic transmission from oil pan (1) Model 220  
8 Detach plug (4) from oil sensor (oil level, temperature and quality) (B40)    
9 Detach support clamp (5) from left engine support (6) and from oil pan (1) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Support clamp to left engine support and oil pan upper section *BA22.10-P-1012-01L 
10 Unscrew black cap (8) from oil pan (1)    
11 Remove lower bolts (9) for transmission bell on oil pan (1)    
12 Dismount oil pan (1) IMPORTANTInstallation:  Check sealing ring of guide tube of oil dipstick and replace if necessary. Clean the sealing surfaces of the oil pan and crankcase.  
    IMPORTANTInstallation:  When installing oil pan the guide tube of the oil dipstick must be counterheld.
IMPORTANTInstallation:  Observe different lengths of bolts and different screw diameter.

13 Install in the reverse order

15 Run engine and inspect for leaks    
16 Perform basic programming Model 220 AR00.19-P-0200M

17 Read out fault memory and erase IMPORTANT Stored faults which may be caused by removal, test work, removed lines or a simulation, must be processed and erased in the fault memories after completing the work.  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect up STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory   AD00.00-P-2000-04A
