Instrument Cluster: Installation

  1. To install instrument cluster, reverse removal procedure. Press in instrument cluster evenly. When installing steering wheel, if removed, DO NOT lube slip ring contact surfaces on steering wheel. Position steering wheel onto shaft splines, and align reference marks made during removal. At the same time, align turn signal cancel cam on steering shaft with combination switch tang.
  2. Install steering wheel hub with extreme caution and ensure carbon contacts are not broken. Install and tighten NEW steering wheel hub bolt to 60 ft. lbs. (80 N.m). Connect horn wiring.
  3. To install air bag module, reverse removal procedure. Tighten screws to 71 INCH lbs. (8 N.m). Activate SRS, and perform system operation check to ensure system is functioning properly.
