Damage code	Cause	Remedy
	Lateral acceleration sensors monitored too precisely by ESP control module.	1 Perform a test as per diagnosis manual. No fault can be found: ↓
		2 Question customer precisely. When and in which drive situation did indicator lamp come on. ESP indicator lamp comes on and DTC C1142 can occur when driving through curves with slight lateral acceleration forces. Replacing the sensor or the ESP control module does not help. Control modules with modified software are in preparation. A small quantity is available via GLC Germersheim. Phased into production successively up to 05/00.
		Install new control modules only when the statement of the customer corresponds to the error entry. ↓ 3 Remove; install, replace control module. Possible delivery bottlenecks can be expected up to conversion in production Enclose DTC memory printout with control modules and sensors sent in.
