Installing repair bolt from when working on springs or spring bosses which are tensioned - AR40.20-P-0322-01B
Use only approved tensioning devices; additionally shield off hazardous area if necessary.
Inspect special tools for damage and proper operation (visual inspection). Wear protective gloves.
- Raise vehicle at front
Pay attention to safety precautions.
- Tension front springs of the relevant side.
- The relevant bolt (19a) attaching the lower wishbone must be replaced with a repair bolt (19c) with shims (19d) for setting the caster and camber.
The standard bolt (19a) is centered in the shaped hole by means of a hump (arrows). The setting bolt (19c) can be installed in the thread through the slot, on the right or left, allowing the wishbone to be repositioned 3 mm to the inside or outside.
The setting bolt (19c) must not
be turned after being fixed in place with the shims (19d). Do not tighten hexagon nut fully at this stage to allow the wishbone rubber bushes to turn when the springs are compressed.

Risk of hands being jammed and squeezed when carrying out work on pretensioner components.
If parts which are held under tension are slackened or removed, severe injuries may occur if non-approved tensioning devices are used.

Use only approved tensioning devices when carrying out repair work on springs, spring bodies, spring reservoirs and other components which are tensioned.
Spring tensioner
On no account tension or slacken the spring tensioner with an impact screwdriver.
Inspecting tensioning devices
- Spindle must move freely and be undamaged.
- Tensioning plates must not be bent.
- Pay attention to assignment of tensioning plates to springs.
Coil diameter of spring must match the slot in the tensioning plate.
Wear protective gloves when carrying out any work.
