Low Fuel & Fuel Cap Placement Warning Light

Low fuel and fuel cap placement warning light is located in fuel gauge. Warning light comes on when ignition is turned on, and goes out when engine is started. Warning light will come on if engine is running and fuel level is 2.1 gallons or less. Warning light will blink if fuel cap is improperly installed or a fuel system leak is detected. When fuel cap is properly installed, or fuel system leak is repaired, warning light will go out after restart and next On Board Diagnostics (OBD) recheck occurs. If fuel cap is properly installed and warning light continues to blink, leak in fuel evaporative emissions system may exist.
