	Remove/install
1	Remove/install front axle brake caliper		AR42.10-P-0070CM
	Disassemble/assemble
2	Separate cylinder housing (34) from brake carrier (33), counterhold sliding bolt (37) in the process	Installation: Replace self-locking bolts (38).

3	Remove heat shield (46)	Installation: Ensure that the retaining lugs engage in the upper groove of the piston (47).
4	Press out piston (47) carefully with compressed air, possibly remove piston with piston-rotating pliers	Pliers	Figure

5	Check piston and cylinder bore	Visual inspection
	Notes if piston or cylinder bore are damaged on fixed or floating caliper		AH42.10-P-9406-03A
		Test values for front axle floating caliper	*BE42.10-P-1001-03A
6	Remove piston seal (50) from groove in cylinder bore.	Installation: Rub the new piston seal (50) with brake fluid.
		The floating brake caliper and repair kit must be from the same manufacturer.
7	Remove dust cap (45) from piston (47)	Installation: Replace dust cap (45). Ensure correct seating.
8	Pull sliding bolt (37) out of brake carrier (33)	Installation: Replace dust boot (39).
		Check sliding bolt (37) for bending and play, replace if necessary.
		Coat sliding bolt with special grease (included in the repair kit).
9	Assemble in the reverse order
