Pulling rear axle shaft flange out and in (wheel carrier installed) - AR35.20-P-0130-01A

IMPORTANT Special tool assignment

Models 129, 140, 170, 202, 208, 210  :

Removal/installation tool 140 589 03 61 00

Models 140, 210.2/6  :

Removal/installation tool 140 589 08 43 00

Models 129, 170, 202, 208, 210.0  :

Removal/installation tool 124 589 05 43 00

Pulling out rear axle shaft flange 

  1. Install support plate (01d) on the end face of the wheel carrier (7).

    IMPORTANT Support plate for

    Models 140, 210.2/6  : Part 12

    Models 129, 170, 202, 208, 210.0  : Part 14

  2. Install removal/installation tool (010) with thrust pin (010b) and threaded bolt (010c).
  3. Screw thrust piece (010a) onto threaded bolt (010c)
  4. Pull rear axle shaft flange (10) out of two-row angular ball bearing (8) and remove.

    Pulling in rear axle shaft flange 

  5. Pull rear axle shaft flange (10) into tow-row angular ball bearing (8) using puller tool (08a.08i).

    IMPORTANT When pulling in, ensure that the thrust plate (small, 08c), part 03, rests snugly against the inner bearing race (arrow).
