Remove, install expansion valve - AR83.30-P-5520GC

MODEL 168 with CODE (580) Air conditioning or Tempmatic for USA

REMOVINGINSTALLING Removing, installing     
DANGER Risk of explosion  from welding or soldering work on closed air conditioning system. Risk of poisoning  from inhaling overheated refrigerant vapors. Risk of injury  from skin and eye contact with liquid refrigerant. Do not carry out any welding work on the closed air conditioning system or in the surrounding area. No smoking or open flames. Wear eye protection and protective gloves. Work only in well ventilated areas. Carry out repair work on the air conditioning system circuit only after the system has been discharged. NOTES Conduct if air conditioning system is damaged or leaking   AH83.30-N-0004-01A 
NOTES Protect air conditioning circuit and components from moisture when carrying out repair work All models with AC AH83.30-N-0005-01A 
IMPORTANT Notes on handling refrigerant R134a All models with R134a refrigerant AH83.30-N-0003-01A 
1 Drain air conditioning system (recycling), evacuate, fill, inspect for leaks NOTES Return drawn off compressor oil to refrigerant circuit when filling air conditioning system *BF83.30-P-1001-01B 
2 Detach pressure and inlet lines (10, 11) at expansion valve (1) TORQUE SPECIFICATION
IMPORTANT Plug openings (parts kit) Installation:  Replace seals (7, 8) and moisten with compressor oil when inserting

3 Detach expansion valve (1) at inlet and pressure connections of evaporator (4, 5) TORQUE SPECIFICATION
IMPORTANT Plug openings (parts kit)
Installation:  Replace seals (2, 3) and moisten with compressor oil when inserting

4 Install in the reverse order    
5 Replace receiver-drier   AR83.30-P-6520GC
    IMPORTANT Pay attention to oil replenishing quantity when replacing receiver-drier *BF83.55-P-1005-01A 
6 Switch on air conditioning and run engine at idling speed for about 4 minutes IMPORTANT Temperature selector to min. (blue) Blower switch to max.  
7 Check function of air conditioning IMPORTANT Air outlet temperature at center nozzle should not drop below +5 ° C, if necessary ↓
Perform diagnosis as specified in Diagnosis Manual
 
8 Checking air conditioning system for leakage   AR83.30-P-1209-01GC
