Removing and installing trunk lid - AR88.50-P-5000E

| 1 | Open trunk lid | ||
| 2 | Unclip cover (1) on inside of trunk lid and remove | Remove panelling on inside of trunk lid |

| 3 | Remove plug-in clips (3) on cable duct (2), for this purpose partially remove right trunk panelling and remove cable duct (2) | ||
| 4 | Unscrew screw (4) on trunk lid lock | ||

| 5 | Remove trunk lid lock and disconnect electric plug as well as line for central locking system | ||
| 6 | Disconnect electric plugs on license plate lamp | ||
| 7 | Unclip switch for trunk lamp and disconnect electric plug | ||
| 8 | Unclip retainer (12) for electric wiring harness and remove wiring harness together with line for central locking system | ||
| 9 | Mark installation position for trunk lid on hinge levers | ||
| 10 | Remove screws (10) on hinge levers (11) | ||
| 11 | Move trunk upward out of arresting hooks with aid of second person and put down on suitable surface | ||
| When the trunk lid is replaced seal joints before painting, preserve with hollow cavity wax after installation | |||

| 12 | Position trunk lid in arresting hooks with aid of second person | ||
| 13 | Screw in screws (10) on hinge levers (11) | ||
| 14 | Check trunk lid fit | If necessary ↓ | |
| adjust | AR88.50-P-5200E | ||
| 15 | Tighten screws (10) | *BA88.50-P-1001-01A | |
| 16 | Insert electric wiring harness and line for central locking system into trunk lid, route and clip in retainer (12) | ||
| 17 | Install electric plug on trunk lamp switch and clip in switch | ||
| 18 | Plug electric plugs onto license plate lamp | ||
| 19 | Plug electric plug and line for central locking system onto trunk lid lock and position trunk lid lock | ||
| 20 | Align trunk lid lock and screw in screws (4) | If necessary ↓ | |
| adjust trunk lid lock and striker eye | AR88.50-P-5020E | ||
| 21 | Tighten screws (4) | *BA88.50-P-1002-01A | |
| 22 | Install cable duct (2) on right hinge lever, install plug-in clips (3) | ||
| 23 | Install trunk panel on right | ||
| 24 | Install cover (1) on inside of trunk lid | Install panelling on inside of trunk lid |

| 25 | Close trunk lid and check for proper function |
