	Emptying
	General notes for working on vehicles with level control / ADS	All models with Code 216b, 216c, 217a, 480	AH32.00-P-0002-01A
1	Press level adjustment switch (S77/1) into the "lock out" position	ADS suspension MIL (A1e27) illuminated.
2	Raise vehicle.	Engine must be switched off.
		Only when "Removing/installing valve unit", empty/fill the pressure oil system at the front or rear axle. Otherwise depending on the scope of the work only empty/fill the pressure oil system at the front or rear axle.
3	Front axle  : Mount oil drain hose (061) on the oil drain plug (56a) on distributor (56)	Lower engine cover removed
4	Rear axle  : Mount oil drain hose (061) on the oil drain plug (57a) on distributor (57)	Cover in the area of the fuel pump assembly / rear axle removed.
	Risk of injury  to skin or eyes from hydraulic fluid spraying out under pressure. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing hydraulic fluid.	Release the pressure in the hydraulic system completely before starting any work on the system. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses.	AS00.00-Z-0013-01A
5	Open oil drain plug (56a or 57a) slowly, collect the oil in a clean container	The fluid can subsequently be refilled into the system for continued use.
6	Close oil drain plug (56a or 57a) again.		*BA32.31-P-1002-01A

	Refill
7	Lower vehicle or vehicle must be on its wheels	At front axle: Position wheels straightahead
8	Fill reservoir (2) with fluid	Only re-use clean oil!

	The ignition must have been switched off for at least 60 seconds	Otherwise fault display in ADS system
	Risk of accident  . Accidents may result if the vehicle starts off unintentionally with the engine running. Risk of injury  as working around the engine during start-up or while running may result in contusions and burns	Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. 9	Start engine and allow to run for approx. 2 minutes at moderate speed.	The system bleeds itself automatically. Ensure that the reservoir contains sufficient fluid. The pump must never be allowed to draw in air.
10	Switch off level adjustment switch (S77/1) "lock out" position	Warning lamp (A1e27) ADS suspension goes out. Should the filling operation last longer than 5 minutes, the control module switches off the valves for 5 minutes (overload protection).
11	Switch off engine
12	Check and correct oil level in oil reservoir	Level control switch (S77/1) is the "Normal level" position (indicator in switch: OFF  ). Oil level between the "min" and "max" marks. The vehicle must be unladen	AP32.30-P-3211BA
13	Conduct a road test	For complete bleeding of the hydraulic system upon completion of the filling operation a test drive should be carried out on rough terrain. In the process carry out level control high level stage 1  and high level stage 2  . Then carry out oil level check at "Normal level" again
