These "Maintenance Documents" contain all the maintenance jobs for the basic and national versions of the following models:

• Model 124 as of 7/93 
• Models 129, 140 as of 7/93  up to 31.5.97 
• Models 170, 202 up to 31.5.97 
• 210 up to 28.2.97 

These maintenance documents contain instructions on how to conduct maintenance and repair work to Mercedes-Benz passenger cars. They are intended for the exclusive use of workshops affiliated to the Mercedes-Benz Organization.

The instructions form the basis for proper and competent service and maintenance. The content of the operations described therein builds on the level of training corresponding to that of a fitter with a completed vocational training and excellent brand awareness. This level of knowledge is absolutely essential for conducting the operations described.

As a consequence of constant further development and improvements to our vehicles the actual technical status of the vehicles may differ from the described operational instructions.

Please contact the responsible contact in the respective country's organization on all matters relating to repair procedures (for MBVD refer to the valid Service Information Group 99). Further information concerning the breakdown and structuring of the work descriptions and the meanings of the symbols (logos) can be found in the microfiche entitled "Notes of maintenance, servicing and repair".

Each individual maintenance job has a number (operation number) located in the head line. The operation number in the Maintenance Manual is identical with that on the maintenance/work sheets, enabling the appropriate texts and data to be found straight away if required when performing the maintenance jobs. Maintenance jobs which are not described have no number (operation number) on the maintenance/work sheets.

The first two digits of the 4-figure operation numbers are the group numbers familiar from the workshop documentation. This means that each maintenance job can be assigned to a group.
