Step 8

	Removing, installing
	Risk of fatal injury  if the vehicle slips or topples off the lifting platform	Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

1.1	Remove engine compartment paneling	Vehicles with gasoline engines
1.2	Remove bottom sections of noise encapsulation	Vehicles with diesel engines	ra94001405305x
2	Remove front wheel
	Removing and fitting wheels		AP40.10-P-4050Z
3	Unscrew nuts on tie rod (10)	Counter the ball pin using an Allen wrench if necessary.

4	Install thrust piece (051) on respective joint		Figure
5	Press off tie rod (10) using puller (050)	Installation:  Clean grease off tapers and press the ball joints of the tie rod securely into the steering arms.

6	Check joints of tie rod (10) for play and damaged rubber boots	Replace tie rod if necessary.
		Installation:  Note installation position (curved tie rod end towards pitman arm).
7	Install in the reverse order
8	Check toe on front axle and adjust if necessary	See: ↓
