Flexible System Service (FSS) Indicator

Flexible System Service (FSS) indicator will appear as a wrench symbol in the odometer display area. This indicates either 30 days or 2000 miles until the next suggested vehicle service should be performed. Intervals between suggested service can be set for either 10,000 or 20,000 miles/365 or 730 days (on CLK), 10,000 or 20,000 miles/365 or 730 days (on E320, E430 and E55) or 10,000 or 16,000 miles/365 or 730 days (on E300). FSS display can be recalled for 10 seconds by pressing the dimmer/trip odometer reset knob 2 times. If suggested service interval is passed, wrench symbol will be displayed along with "SERVICE...DUE NOW" (on CLK) or "SERVICE...DUE?" (on E Class) and an audible reminder will sound when ignition is turned on in both vehicles.

After service is performed, the FSS indicator will need to be reset. To reset FSS indicator, see PROGRAMMING  .
