Injury hazard 

When working in the area of the rollover bar severe injury can occur when the rollover bar extends suddenly

In particular the rollover bar can be activated unintentionally while performing diagnostic and maintenance work on the control module (N52) (the rollover sensors are integrated into the N52)!.

It can also be triggered automatically within 1 h after switching "OFF" the ignition. It is therefore not sufficient to only switch off the ignition.

Procedural guidelines and safety precautions 

• Monitor hazard area
• Extend rollover bar before working in the rollover bar area
• If it is not be possible to extend the rollover bar due to a technical defect always disconnect vehicle battery (G1).
• Keep body parts away from the moving area of the rollover bar mechanical system.
