Remove/install trunk lid - AR88.50-P-5000K

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/Install     
DANGER Risk of injury  to fingers being jammed or pinched  when Remove/install or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/tailgate or sliding roof. When moving components, ensure that no body parts or limbs are within the operating range of moving parts. AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
1 Open trunk lid    
2 Remove hazard warning triangle from bracket and unclip bracket (4)    
3 Remove inner paneling (2) from trunk lid IMPORTANT Paneling is fastened with 12 clips.  
4 Remove CL line from trunk lid lock IMPORTANT Do not remove trunk lid lock. AR88.50-P-5020K 
5 Disconnect electrical plug from license plate lamp, taillamps and from luggage compartment lamp switch    
6 Remove cover (3) from hinge lever IMPORTANT Unclip lugs with screwdriver  
7 Expose electric wiring harness and remove wiring harness from trunk lid together with CL line NOTESInstallation:  Fasten electric wiring harness and
CL line with tie strap.
 
8 Mark installation position of trunk lid on hinge levers IMPORTANT Facilitates assembly when installing  
9 Unscrew bolts (7) from hinge levers (6) NOTES Cover hinge lever openings so that bolts (7) cannot fall in  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt on trunk lid hinge to side wall *BA88.50-P-1001-01A 
10 Move trunk lid out of arresting hooks with aid of 2nd person and lay down on suitable subsurface NOTES Avoid damaging paint.  
11 Install in the reverse order When replacing trunk lid supplement standard seam sealing and cavity preservation.

12 Check gaps on trunk lid Trunk lid gaps *BE60.00-P-1003-01A 
    SPECIAL TOOL Feeler gage Figure
    Check gaps, correct if necessary, see ↓  
    Adjust trunk lid AR88.50-P-5200K 
13 Close trunk lid and check for proper function    
TEST AND ADJUSTMENT VALUES, GAP DIMENSIONS AT HOODS, DOORS AND COVERS
