Test 5: Oil Level Indicator Lamp

  1. Ensure oil level is okay. Disconnect oil level sensor harness connector. Using a jumper wire, connect oil level sensor harness connector terminal to ground. Start engine and let idle. If oil level indicator lamp illuminates, check the following items and repair as necessary:
    • Check wiring. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
    • Check electronic circuit board.
    • Check bulb.
  2. With engine at idle, disconnect connector from oil lever sensor. If indicator light illuminates in 50-70 seconds, go to next step. If indicator lamp does not illuminate in 50-70 seconds, check the following items and repair as necessary:
    • Check bulb.
    • Check wiring. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
    • Check electronic circuit board.
  3. Disconnect low engine oil level indicator connector. Check resistance between ground and low engine oil level indicator connector terminal No. 1. Zero ohms should exist. If zero ohms does not exist, replace low engine oil level indicator.
