Number Designation
WH58.30-Z-1001-09A Multimeter

IMPORTANT Observe limit value of multimeter for voltage measurements. A current of approx. 20 A  flows when the central locking starts operating.

IMPORTANT Do not activate any other consumers during the test, otherwise observe new after-run time of approx. 4 minutes.

  1. Connect multimeter to negative terminal and positive terminal of battery.
  2. Lock vehicle and wait for approx. 4 minutes (after-run time for electronic components). ↓

    Display 0.05 A  (≤0.085 A  on vehicles with immobilizer) = specified value achieved: ↓

    Carry out work step 3.

    Display 0.05 A  (≥0.085 A  on vehicles with immobilizer): ↓

    Carry out work step  4.

  3. Unlock vehicle and wait for approx. 4 minutes (after-run time for electronic components). ↓

    Display 0.05 A  (≤0.085 A  on vehicles with immobilizer) = specified value achieved: ↓

    End of test.

    Display 0.05 A  (≥0.085 A  on vehicles with immobilizer): ↓

    Carry out work step  5.

  4. Unlock vehicle and wait for approx. 4 minutes (after-run time for electronic components). ↓

    Display 0.05 A  (≤0.085 A  on vehicles with immobilizer): ↓

Note displayed value. Determine circuit with higher quiescent current.

    Display 0.05 A  (≥0.085 A  on vehicles with immobilizer): ↓

    Carry out work step 5.

  5. Open trunk lid. Operate microswitch on trunk lock and wait for approx. 4 minutes (after-run time for electronic components). ↓

    Display 0.05 A  (≤0.085 A  on vehicles with immobilizer: ↓

Adjust switch (trunk illumination) on trunk lock, replace if necessary and carry out work step  2 again to check.

    Display 0.05 A  (≥0.085 A  on vehicles with immobilizer): ↓

Note displayed value. Determine circuit with higher quiescent current.
