Remove/install drag link - AR46.40-P-0100A

MODIFICATION NOTES

10.9.03 Reference to adjusting toe on front axle replaced by reference to chassis alignment Step 8  
REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
NOTES Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts   AH00.00-N-0001-01A
1 Remove engine compartment paneling   AR61.20-P-1105AB
2 Detach steering damper (46) from drag link TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA46.40-P-1001-03A 
3 Unscrew nuts (11e) of drag link (11) IMPORTANT Counter the ball pin using an Allen wrench if necessary.  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA46.40-P-1001-04A 
4 Install thrust piece (051) SPECIAL TOOL Figure
5 Press drag link (11) off steering gear pitman arm and steering idler arm using puller (053) IMPORTANTInstallation  : Clean grease off tapers and press the ball joints of the drag link securely into the steering arms.

6 Check joints of drag link (11) for play and damaged rubber boots IMPORTANT Replace drag link if necessary.  
7 Install in the reverse order    
8 Check front wheel toe and adjust if necessary See: ↓  
    Perform a wheel alignment check AR40.20-P-0200A
