Wheel Carrier: Removal
- Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheel. Apply parking brake. Remove axle shaft collar nut. Remove brake caliper, and wire aside. DO NOT stretch or bind brake hose. Remove brake rotor.
- Remove parking brake shoes. Remove parking brake control cable. Remove camber strut-to-wheel carrier bolt. See Figure. Remove radius rod-to-wheel carrier bolt. Radius rod-to-wheel carrier bolt head is accessible through brake disc backing plate.
- Remove track rod-to-wheel carrier nut. Using a puller, remove track rod from wheel carrier. Disconnect stabilizer bar from wheel carrier. Remove thrust rod-to-wheel carrier bolt. Remove lower suspension arm bolt from wheel carrier. Pull wheel carrier from rear axle shaft.
