Removing and installing steering angle sensor - AR46.10-P-0300A: Notes

MODEL 129.### ## up to 79794 with CODE (216b) Self-levelling suspension all-around, with adaptive damping system (ADS) 

MODEL 140.### ## up to 123446 with CODE (217a) Self-levelling suspension on rear axle with ADS

REMOVINGINSTALLING Removal, installation     
1 Remove steering wheel   AR46.10-P-0100A 
2 Unscrew Hall sensor (N49) from jacket tube. Disconnect connector of steering angle sensor and airbag at connector and expose cables    
3 Remove Hall sensor (N49) and unscrew the carbon contacts of the airbag from the Hall sensor retaining plate    
INSPECT Checking     
4 Check wiper contacts with magnets on steering wheel IMPORTANT 72 magnets (c) are located behind the slip ring (outermost ring). One of these is a stronger magnet designed to be the control magnet for the center position. Ensure that no iron chips are attracted to it.↓  
    Install replacement steering wheel or new contact rings AR46.10-P-0100-01A 
5 Install in reverse order    
6.1 Activate steering angle sensor Vehicles with ADS AR46.10-P-0300-01A
