A. Removing and installing Model 140

Quiescent current retention unit disconnect, connect. Ground cable at battery disconnect, connect. Screws (1) unscrew, screw in. Lid (2) of module box (F23) lift off, fit on. Gasket (3) examine for signs of damage; ensure gasket (3) is correctly seated when installing. Control modules remove using special tool 140 589 01 33 00. Install by hand; press in using special tool 140 589 01 33 00 if necessary; pay attention to color marking of control modules and connector bays; see B. NOTE: All the control modules and connectors in the module box are equipped with a protective element to prevent incorrect connection. In addition color markings (arrow) are affixed to the control modules which are identical with the colors of the connector housings. A number of control modules have two multipoint connector strips, in which case the connector for the second strip has a darker color like the marking on the control module.Module box/control module box pin
