If a light source is not switched off (high beam, low beam or side light), a warning buzzer sounds after the key is withdrawn from the steering lock and the left or right front door is opened.

When a door, or doors, is/are opened and a light source is still switched on (key withdrawn from steering lock) the warning buzzer (A1h1) in the instrument cluster (A1) negative (-) is actuated via the door contact switch (S17/3, S17/4) and via the ignition starter switch (S2/1). The positive (+) actuation from the rotary light switch (S1) is supplied from terminal K via the exterior lamp failure monitoring unit (N7) to the warning buzzer (A1h1) in the instrument cluster (A1).

When the door (or doors) is closed, the warning buzzer is switched off even if the lighting is on.
