It can be determined whether the wiper arm or the wiper system needs to be adjusted by checking the wiper arm angle of incidence in the park and center positions.

• Adjusting wiper arm 

  If the test value is out of the tolerance range in the center position.

  The angle of incidence is changed by "twisting" (distorting) the wiper arm with the aid of the adjuster levers. The angle of incidence of the wiper arm in relation to the windshield must always be adjusted in the center position.

  In the center position the wiper arm must be exactly parallel to the windshield. Correct setting of the wiper arm in the center position is a prerequisite for low wear and low-noise wiper blade movement on the windshield.

• Adjusting wiper system 

  Only if the test value is out of the tolerance range in the parked position.
