INSPECT Check and adjust     
1 Set steering wheel in center position SPECIAL TOOL to do this, insert the retainer (055). Figure
2 Check center position of steering gear and steering wheel The steering gear is in the center position when the marking line on the cap coincides with the marking notch on the rotary valve (arrows). Adjust steering wheel by max. one tooth if necessary.  
3 Insert the wheel spreader (030) on the inside of the wheel at the front viewed in the direction of travel, remove IMPORTANT The flexible mounts on the transverse control arms and steering linkage result in a correspondingly large toe value which reduces to the correct dimension when the vehicle is operational. *WH58.30-Z-1005-14A 
4 Adjust the toe by loosening the jam nut (10f) and twisting the tie rods (10) IMPORTANT Check that the bellows are not twisted after adjusting the toe. *BE40.20-P-1001-07A
