Dismantling and assembling inner jacket tube - AR46.10-P-0500-02B

DISASSEMBLINGDismantling 

  1. Detach retaining ring or spacer washer (70f) using suitable pliers.
  2. Remove disk spring (70e) and thrust ring (70d).

  3. Push steering shaft (70g) out slightly, detach thrust ring (70b) and two locking rings (70c).
  4. Press ball bearing (70a) out of the jacket tube using the steering shaft (70g).

    IMPORTANT

    Replace ball bearing

  5. Using a suitable tube, press in one ball bearing (70a) as far as the stop in the inner jacket tube (81b).
  6. Insert steering shaft (70g).
  7. Press in second ball bearing (70a) as far as the stop in the jacket tube.

  8. Push thrust ring (70b) and locking ring (70c) together onto the steering shaft (70g). Ensure that the locking ring (70c) locks into position correctly in the groove of the steering shaft.
  9. Mount second locking ring (70c).

  10. Slide on thrust ring (70d) and disc spring or spacer washer (70e).
  11. Mount retaining ring (70f) on the steering shaft with the round section (chamfer) towards the disc spring or spacer washer and, using a suitable tube (072), press on until the disc spring (70e) is fully preloaded.
