Detaching

1st version:

1. Un-crumple lug (arrow) of lock plate (96a).
2. Unscrew nuts (96).
3. Unscrew self-locking nut (96).

Attaching

1st version:

2.1 Mount new tab washer (96a) on the lower steering shaft and fix by bending over.

1st and 2nd version:

First position nut or self-locking nut (96) on a thread on the upper steering shaft (70g)
Position the lower steering shaft on the nut (96) and screw together by continuing to turn both parts until just before they lock in position in the splines.

Turn the lower steering shaft (80a) so that the joint fork points downwards.
Insert adjustment gauge (075) in the groove of the upper steering shaft and position the joint fork of the lower steering shaft (80a) so that it is parallel "X" to the adjustment gauge (075).

The lower steering shaft is fixed in this position relative to the upper steering shaft via the splines by screwing the nut (96) on further.
To tighten, mount the steering wheel on the steering shaft and steady. Tighten the nut (96).

1st version:

Lock the nut (96, 1st version), to do this press a suitable tooth of the tab washer (96a) into the groove on the nut (arrow).
