  1. Comparison measurement "V1  " measured from the check bore "K  " to the 6 mm hole in the transverse control arm (4), left to right.

    Use telescopic measuring rod (06) 124 589 02 19 00 with measuring tip (024c)

    140 589 09 63 29.

IMPORTANT If a repair bolt is installed in the right or left transverse control arm mounting, the tolerance increases to 8 mm.

This should be taken into account in the evaluation of the measuring results.

  2. Comparison measurement " V2  " measured from the check bore " K  " to the cutout in the body longitudinal member, left to right.

    Use telescopic measuring rod (06) 124 589 02 19 00 with measuring tip (024d)

    140 589 09 63 03.

  3. Comparison measurement " V3  " measured from the check bore " K  " to the tip of the mounting screw of the rear transverse control arm bearing.

    Use telescopic measuring rod (06) 124 589 02 19 00 with measuring tip (024e)

    140 589 09 63 02.

IMPORTANT If a repair bolt (4 mm shorter than the standard production bolt) is installed in the right or left rear transverse control arm mounting, the comparison measurement " V3  " deviates from the specified tolerance.

This should be taken into account in the evaluation of the measuring results.

  4. Distance measurement " V5  " of the upper suspension of the dampers at the front end. In the process bring the measuring bolt from the inside outwards (arrows) so that it just abuts the threaded spindle/damper (see cutout).

    Use telescopic measuring rod (06) 124 589 02 19 00 with measuring pin (024h)

    140 589 09 63 11.

IMPORTANT The distance measurement " V5  " may only be used together with the measured camber value of the front axle for accident diagnosis, as here the position of the upper transverse control arm can only be determined indirectly.

  5. Comparison measurement " V6  " measured from the check bore " K  " to the tip of the mounting screw of the front transverse control arm mounting, left to right.

    Use telescopic measuring rod (06) 124 589 02 19 00 with measuring tip (024e)

    140 589 09 63 02

IMPORTANT If a repair bolt (4 mm shorter than the standard production bolt) is installed in the right or left rear transverse control arm mounting, the comparison measurement " V6  " deviates from the specified tolerance.

This should be taken into account in the evaluation of the measuring results.

  6. Distance measurement " V7  " measured between the front and rear transverse control arm mounting on the inside of the bearing brackets.

IMPORTANT Use measuring rod or tape measure.

  7. Distance measurement " V8  " between the left and right rear transverse control arm mounting, measured across the center of the mounting screws. With mounting screws adjusted from the center, add 3 mm to or subtract 3 mm from the specified value depending on the adjustment direction.

    Use telescopic measuring rod (06) 124 589 01 19 00 with measuring tips (024e)

    140 589 09 63 02.

  8. Distance measurement " V9  " between the left and right front transverse control arm mounting, measured across the center of the mounting screws. With mounting screws adjusted from the center, add 3 mm to or subtract 3 mm from the specified value depending on the adjustment direction.

    Use telescopic measuring rod (06) 124 589 01 19 00 with measuring tips (024e)

    140 589 09 63 02.
